As a trained actor, singer and part time vocal teacher and coach for a number of years, I was always somewhat concerned that my knowledge in the essential areas of vocal production was either outdated or lacking in key areas. Generally, we singing teachers like to believe that the knowledge we have gained from our own past training with many different teachers, musical directors and colleagues hold us in good stead for our own teaching. Yet, for some reason, not many of us find the time to challenge this belief and seek new skills and knowledge in the same way that, perhaps, every other professional field would. For instance, School teachers are constantly examined; Dentists and Doctors require regular re-certification and Airline pilots are constantly retrained and assessed. So … why not us? So with this in mind, I set out to challenge what I thought I knew…to look into my own teaching methods and see what was missing… to discover where I was lacking in not only vocal theory, but also in practical teaching. And thanks to MTIs (or Ross Campbell’s) incredible Teacher Professional Development Programme, I discovered all of these things and so much more. 

I can honestly say that in all of my 15 years as both a singer and teacher, I have never discovered so much about the voice! Ross’ expertise and knowledge, along with his infectious enthusiasm and love for what he does so well, allowed me to grow exponentially as a teacher in such a short space of time. It has instantly made me a better teacher, but above all has allowed me to listen to my own students voices, pinpoint the problems and address them immediately…. and above all see instant improvements in ALL of my students.  

I would not hesitate to recommend this course to any singing teacher of any level of skill or experience. In fact, I would consider it essential training for any singing teacher who wishes to further their careers and invest in their own futures.
